When Did Reed get so Ripped?

A team/family of adventurers and Imaginauts. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben originally received their powers after being exposed to a radiation storm in space. Afterwards, they became the Fantastic Four and they decided to use their powers for the benefit of humanity. After the death of Johnny, F4 disbanded.

I recently started reading Hickman's Fantastic Four run (amazing by the way) and noticed that while Eaglesham's art's really nice, he draws the most awkward Reed Richards I've ever seen ever. His He-Man meets man of science steez is very, very off putting to me. I mean Look at this pic. Reed looks like when he's not couped up in his lab he's hittin' the gym with Luke Cage. I swear he looks like cable or something. Same goes for his Johnny. Both of them are overly jacked up and look like WWE action figures. Everything else during his issues look great, but it always distracts me how wrong Reed and Johnny look, especially Reed.

Don't like it though if you think about it he should be able to stretch himself to look like that whenever he wants. Why he would do that I don't know.

He's just stretching himself that way to look like he has muscles.

@JonesDeini: I tend to agree. Reed looking like a body-builder just seems wrong.

Eaglesham is a fan of the old school, chiseled jaw, broad muscles type of art styles. He talked about it when he... I'll try and find the interview. I don't mind so much. It can be a bit jarring.

It's not like he have dedicated work-out machines and exercise routines.

It's not like his job involves any physical activity.
Hell, he could exercise and solving worlds problem at the same time.

Yeah........I don't like it. He's supposed to be lanky with a bit of muscle tone, like the way Hitch draws him. This is....kind of yuck.

As the book went along Eaglesham really toned it down with the muscle and all around his art's great. Still prefer epting's pencils overall but Eaglesham's a talented artists, just was thrown off by his Reed and to a lesser extent Johnny.

My guess is, that he boxes to gain more muscles. Thus he increases his scretching ability. Or maybe he`s just drawn that way. Drawers can, after all, make mistakes the same way anyone can.

I've seen some more of Dale's work and it turns out that's just how he likes to draw all superhero males. His civilians, surprisingly, don't look like He-Man action figures.

I would like to rephrase what I wrote earlier:

My guess is, that he boxes to gain more muscles. Thus he increases his scretching ability. Or maybe he`s just drawn that way. Drawers can, after all, make mistakes the same way anyone can.

It actually isn`t a mistake to draw with your own style. But I still think that he shouldn`t look THAT muscled. And neither Johny. But well, I can read the stories and regard all that.

I always assumed he'd be of average musculature with a tall, slender frame. Maybe a little cut due to him being pretty well practiced at Judo.
