    I have a dilemma that I need your help with. Last night I went to three different comic book stores looking for Fantastic Four #587 but they were sold out in all of them. I headed for the last store I knew of and to my surprise they had one left.

    Now here's the problem, I have not read the issue because I do not want to open the bag. I avoided spoilers all week so I wouldn't find out who died in the issue (although my mistake was to watch the Weekly News). Since this is now a collectors item, now that it is sealed I am very apprehensive about opening it.  
    A lot of people have suggested that I don't open it and resort to a scanlator's website to read it. The problem is that I am very much against resorting to scanations. Then again I did pay for it. 
    So in the end, I know not what to do! I don't want to open it, but I want to read it. I want to read it but I don't want to open it.

    I caved and read it. I'm sad now, but that the scene between Sue and Namor was amazing!

    Why buy it if you are not gonna read it? Trust me you will never be able to sell it and buy a good dinner.  This book has been highly speculated and there will be plenty of copies still in the bag to drive down prices.  So do what I did, slit it open and replace it with a Richie Rich reprint, and re heat seal it. It appears unopened, and someone who buys it in the wrapper will keep it in the wrapper.  He will be happy, you will be happy. Everyone wins.

    Sora, here's the way I look at it.  Superman #375, which is the polybagged Death of Superman issue, is valued at about $10.00.  Therefore, the chances that this will be much of an investment is kind of iffy. 
     
    At the same time, you never know with these things.  I haven't read the issue either because I just don't want to chance it losing any potential value.  I'm just going to wait for the non-polybagged one.
