In a press conference with Jonathan Hickman and Tom Brevoort discussing the death of one of the Fantastic Four in the upcoming story arc '3', Brevoort made a blunt statement about the future of the FF:
Personally, I don't like when they end a series for something gimmicky. Like, if after a year or so the dead member comes back and now we start renumbering things in a new series. Regardless of what happens, I am skeptical of this cancellation. Any other thoughts? But there's nowhere that the events of "3" will be felt more than the series itself. At the end of the press conference, when asked if there will even be a book called FANTASTIC FOUR put out by Marvel in one year's time, editor Tom Brevoort put it bluntly.
"No, there will not."
