Legendary artist Bryan Hitch took on the cinematic version of the new Fantastic Four this week, as tweeted out by 20th Century Fox. The team stands on top of a building, in New York City, ready to spring into action.

It's less than a month away before the reboot hits theaters, and we've already seen quite a few trailers for the upcoming film. It will be an origin story and once again deal with Doctor Doom. Here's the official synopsis for the upcoming team film.

Four young outsiders acquire amazing abilities after a trip to an alternate universe changes their physical forms in unforeseen ways.

Fantastic Four opens up on August 7.

Don't really think this is Hitch's best work. I know he was trying to make the characters have the likeness of the actors but it just doesn't look great, especially the faces.

The background looks as good as you would expect from Hitch.

I mean, the alternative is picturing some really awkward, dusty, dry humps with Alicia if he doesn't. ... Though if he does, the imagery isn't much better given it's made of rocks too...

@stewart77: I think as far as marvel is concerned the FF is dead for at least another year. They may tease us with a few team ups between say Ben and Johnny or a meeting between Reed and Sue or something like that but they won't throw them back together until they can cynically milk the reunion and possible re-launch for every advantage they can get. In my opinion marvel is more into marketing than story telling. I doubt we'll ever even know what splits them up until much later after the Secret Wars bit is over. They'll tease and poke the fans constantly with little hints at cons and in interviews first, maybe leak a writer/artist assignment rumor and then -maybe- actually do something when they think it's the best time monetarily to do so. If ever. A lot might depend on how the sales of the Inhumans with Johnny and Medusa go, if that is solid and if the members of the FF in other titles are doing well then don't expect the FF back until the sales go down.

As to the art... Is it me or does it look like Ben is about to punch Reed and Sue?

I am one of the few who believes in this movie, but if Ben doesn't scream "where is my thing!" I will demand my money back.

They'd probably ignore it, but congratulations on summing up the Thing's situation in one word.

I hate to say it considering I grew up as a marvel guy and got a lot of my ideals from their stories, but ever since Disassembled they haven't made many moves that weren't marketing than story driven. They have hearts of stone and souls filled with greed.

So The Thing doesnt have a penis. Bad enough he is a giant rock man but he also he doesnt have penis is too cruel for person at least he doesnt need to drink.

I kind of thought they were going for an ultimate universe inspired Fantastic 4. I'd like to see the thing wear a uniform similar to his ultimate counterpart.

Anyone else hopes this does terrible at the box office and has its rights revert back to Marvel? No issue with the movie itself, but I rather have it set within the MCU universe than Fox's lack of a universe.

The trailers were winning me over, until the last one came out.

I'd like to think this movie is the reason why the FF comics are cancelled for the time being. But apparently they just aren't selling that well to begin with.

Even during the legendary Hickman run, even when he wrote the death of Johnny Storm the sales weren't that great. Even though his 2 Omnibi long run was the best since the Lee-Kirby run.
