Be my bloody valentine
Another day, another new planet.
This time the family is going to an alien world, with an Earth like atmosphere and intelligent inhabitants. A better start than the last planet they went too. When they arrive the family is treated as royalty, and Sue treated as a god. One of the mystic caves of the people there is a painting of the family. No one knows how it got there.
That's all well and good, but the real story is the retelling of how Reed and Sue met.
Reed was renting a house while going for his third doctorate and here for the first time meets Sue. It's a nice story, and the better of the two going on.
The stories are bookended with a narration from Reed writing a letter to Sue. It also sets some things up I thought would be happening much later.
Matt Fraction is really doing a great job on this. Honestly, the only thing of his I didn't like was his writing on Thor. I don't know what happened there, but it was terrible. But as everyone knows, he has the definitive run on Iron Man, and has been doing a fantastic (see what I did there) job on this book, FF, and Hawkeye.
It's not as epic as Jonathan Hickman's run, but it doesn't need to be.
AR wise, we get a couple of videos. I could not get the cover to activate. We get an interview with Matt Fraction talking about changing the continuity of when Reed met Sue. He turned her from a 12 year old into a legal age. That's a good change, and eliminates a creepy factor. We also get a video from MTV Geek (seriously?) introducing us to all of the Fraction family.
All in all, this has been a great series so far.
