New year!
The book illustrates yet again what the Fantastic Four represent: a fun, exiting and family orientated adventure of six people who do the impossible. In this third issue, the adventure takes place on a new planet where Reed is secretly sending himself and the family to try and retrieve answers for his physical problem. Obviously they come face to face with a problem: the new planet they're visiting might not be what they expected. In fact, that whole threat the planet is for the FF was an interesting aspect of the book. Not only was the threat an imaginative and fun element to read, but how the team dealt with it was also greatly enjoyable in the book. Ben does something that was for me the strong point (the ''cool'' point if I may) of the issue.
Bagley is still great with this issue, although at some times his facial expressions are off or just seem always the same. Despite that fact, his cartonish style still suits the book and I'm not ready to see him leave just yet.
The bad:
Although Reed goes on the planet to solve his problem (which is the main plot of the series) I didn't feel like that same main plot was advancing a lot. In my opinion, there should have been an element in the book where that main point of the series was a little more touched on. Instead we just had an action issue with no profound element to it unlike we had in the two first issues (mainly the first one).
So what's the verdict?
The issue was a fun read as usual with art that suits it just fine. How the team deals with the problem was enjoyable, especially with the intervention of Thing. Although we don't see any big developments from the main plot, we still get an adventurous issue filled with good moments.
