Exciting?!?
Alright, there are a ton of Golden Age Comics I have not read. I could not begin to scratch the surface of the comics that are out there. All this said this may be the worse one I have ever read. The first story the Mask (Black Bat) was by far the best story and it was pretty disjointed. All the others were as dull as dish water.
There were eleven different stories in this comic. The only superhero tale was the Mask story. The others were Major Mars a sci-fi tale, Blue King and World War II story, Jim Hatfield a western, Payoff in Lead, a private investigator-like story, Hy Hardy a adventure story, A Real Waddy a western short story (not a comic), Dan Williams another private investigator story and three Make-Believe Micky comedic one page comic strip style comics.
I would not recommend this book. I really think comic fans do themselves a favor by reading many Golden-Age comics but this is not really one of them unless you are a mad comic fan like myself. I gave the book two stars.
