Excalibur # 83 - Bend Sinister (Soul Sword Trilogy Part 1)

A curious macabre image. So who better to call in than Bill Sienkiewicz, who was not a regular on the comic. This is actually Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) not Illyanna Rasputin, as one might expect. Still it's a nasty old business pulling a sword out of one's midriff and serious kudos to Sienkiewicz who has chosen a very peculiar angle for the cover but, boy, has he made it work. Good use of colour, particularly the red and black and though Kitty's face looks a little odd and out of joint it works perfectly for this cover.
