With the successful launch of 12 warheads Chastity and Ernie go and have so well earned down time. Chastity tries to educated Ernie on music but he is more interested in how his missiles are doing and wants the radio news on. It seems Chastity's last minute gambit prevented the launch of 2 of the missiles. but the ones headed for Detroit, Beijing, Moscow, Paris, Johannesburg and Baghdad are on target. The respective countries detect the launches and prepare defenses and responses.
Chastity gives Ernie a quick makeover giving him the appearance of gene Simmons and tries to seduce him to distract him from the radio. She kisses him but he rejects her yet again. She walks away heartbroken as Smiley mourns Ernie's dedication to Lady Death.
Mary operates on Billy but its proving difficult with her unskilled hands and Billy dies on the operating table. Dr Price is blinded by an atomic blast and lies drunk on the ground.
