In Georgia Judy Young has hooked up with Samgunhill and is surviving in the mountains in a small town. They return one day to find it laid waste and on fire. Only Ginne survived and tell them that it was human soldiers from the Ameriacan restoration Alliance that did it.
The ARA are based in Arizona and lead by Cyrus and have a political and scored earth agenda. the towns folk shot down a stealth helicopter and so they laid waste the town. They were looking for a nuclear stockpile rumored to be stashed somewhere in Georgia as well as biological weapons. the elader of the virus recovery mission is on Autopsy's operating table. He escapes but is killed and Autopsy names him G.I. Joseph.
Mary and Billy are travelling in Georgia and hear news that Judy has been seen alive and well and is a legend in these parts for her zombie slaying ability.
Dr Price still wracked with remorse is contemplating suicide.
Chastity and Ernie are on a mission to find some nuke's so they can do some real damage and escalate the war. As they drive Chastity needs to feed so they take a detour and come across a travelling circus and the two have fun killing the freaks and performers. Afterwards Ernie uses his mental connection to the dead to find one with knowledge of nuclear sites. Ernie connects with G.I. Joseph and finds he has the knowledge he needs.
