Esmeralda the Fortune Teller appears in Jazan Wild's Carnival of Souls comic series issues 1 through 3 and the Strongman comic. The soothsayer's back-story is told in issue 3 and also in a chapter in the Carnival of Souls novel.
Esmeralda's mother was burned at the stake, accused of being a witch for giving birth to a daughter who could hear the town's secrets. Her mother freed herself and Esmeralda from the ropes and commanded the young girl to run to the Carnival of Souls, which they had recently visited, and let the caravan take her away.
Esmeralda the Fortune Teller is mentioned in the second graphic novel in the Dandy series, "Step Into The Krazy Life", as well as in the Dandy Novel. Dandy gets a reading from Esmeralda and Jexter the Clown confirms that Dandy will not be joining the Freak Show but will rather be destined to another magical journey. A dandy one.
