The saga of the TRANSFORMERS secret war on Earth- begun in Infiltration- continues with Phase Two: Escalation. With the monumental menaces of MEGATRON and Ore-13 looming, the Autobots could be forgiven for thinking things couldn't get much worse. The mysterious organization known as Machination has struck! On the outskirts of Missouri, Sunstreaker and his human passanger, have been ruthlessly taken out of the game! As Optimus Prime and the Autobots struggle to muster a response to the tragedy, so the Decepticons, now again completely loyal to Megatron, begin to transform their covert strategies into direct actions as Phase 2 begins.
The shocking events of last issue leave the AUTOBOTS reeling. Their number diminished by one, they struggle to come to terms with the whys and wherefores of the Lebanon interception. Similarly, the two humans still standing want answers... and action! And, as if this wasn't enough to contend with, the true, staggering scope of the DECEPTICON Infiltration gambit is revealed!
As the Autobots begin to probe the mysterious abduction (and fate) of Sunstreaker and Hunter O'Nion, Megatron gets hands-on with the escalating Decepticon infiltration strategy on Earth. Having upgraded to an immensely powerful new Earth form, Megatron sets his sights on the soviet state of Brasnya and one of the many facsimile integrated to that particular hot spot.
When an incendiary conflict flares on an disputed border between Russia and Brasnya, Optimus Prime leads an Autobot assault team into the area in an effort to frustrate Megatron's efforts to agitate the situation and capture the facsimile Georgi Koska.
In the meantime, on American soil, Verity Carlo, Jimmy Pink, Ironhide and Ratchet are ater the real responsibles of the abduction of Sunstreaker and Hunter O'Nion.
In Brasnya, Megatron is decided to finish the never-ending conflict between him and Optimus Prime. Once and for all and with the Ore-13 upgrade, he can backup his words. Meanwhile, Verity Carlo and Jimmy Pink have been ambushed by some traps of Machination while Ratchet and Ironhide are waiting for them, unaware that the whole place is ready to explode.
Optimus Prime is dead. Or at least, that's what it seems. But if he's down, what chances are left for the Autobots agains the Mighty Megatron? Meanwhile, the time is expiring not only for Verity, Jimmy, Ironhide and Ratchet, but also for Hot Rod who is under heavy fire. He's in charge of the facsimile but Skywarp and Thundercraker won't let him flee that easily.
With the power balance between Autobots and Decepticons lost, the fragile peace on Earth is about to end. Finally, Devastation is upon us.
