    Eric Goldberg was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He attended Pratt Institute in 1973. He animated under Richard Williams for a time. Goldberg married his wife Susan in 1982. He was hired by Disney in 1990, and was the lead animator on the Genie in Aladdin (1992). He co-directed Pocahontas (1995).

    He would later work on Phil from Hercules (1997) the Rhapsody in Blue sequence from Fantasia 2000 (1999). In 2009, Goldberg won an Annie for his work on Louis from The Princess and the Frog (2009).
