We all have trade paperback (TPB) collections we'd like to see. Here's one of mine:

Proposed Title:Legionnaires: End of an Era.
    Alternate Title:
    1. Legion of Super-Heroes: End of an Era
    2. Zero Hour: Legion of Super-Heroes
    Collecting 6 Issues:
    • Legionnaires #17-18
    • Legion of Super-Heroes #60-61
    • Valor #22-23
    Covers: (click to enlarge)
    TPB Cover: Legionnaires #17
    TPB Cover: Legionnaires #17

End of an Era was the Zero Hour "wrap up" to the Legion family of titles: Legionnaires, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Valor. Initially, I would have made this a Valor TPB, but a) he's back to being called Mon-El, and b) overall, it's a Legion story. My main reason for even thinking of it as a Valor story is that Valor was the only one of the three titles I was reading at the time.

If DC ever chose to do this TPB, I imagine it would carry the alternate title suggestion of Legion of Super-Heroes: End of an Era. I suggested Legionnaires: End of an Era as the first choice, for three reasons: 1) It's the first part of the story arc, 2) It distances this trade from the current LSH title just enough to keep it from being confused with the current run, and 3) With the Legionnaires title out of print, using the title on a graphic novel would keep the title in copyright for DC.

The suggestion of Zero Hour: Legion of Super-Heroes is really more of an afterthought. If DC were collecting the Zero Hour tie-in issues into trade paperbacks, then this might be the TPB for the Legion family of titles.

For the cover, I'd be tempted to go with the Time Trapper cover of LSH #61, but eh, it isn't much to look at. Same thought with the Valor #23 cover. So I'd go with the Legionnaires #17 cover, since it's the only other cover that implies the end of something.

Would you buy it? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.

I would definitely buy it.  First, I'm a life long Legion fan.. so of course I'd be all over it.  Second, this was a big turning point in Legion History as it is the end of the 5 years later era of the Legion.  It may go well, if the Legion '0' issues were included with this as well, showing the change from one time line to another as the 'Archie' Legion begins.

@Crymsun: Having the beginning issues of the next Legion stories would take away from it being the "End of an Era," wouldn't it?  Honestly, my understanding of Legion history around this period is super fuzzy.  I've got the Beginning of Tomorrow TPB, which has one of the zeroes, but beyond that, haven't read much Legion from this time.
