The Emma Frost entry covers her fictional biography but not her creative origins or reimagining. Which writer introduced her secondary mutation and what inspired its introduction? Was it utilitarianism (the need to take a "fragile" telepath without telekinetic shields off the battlefield) or symbolic or boredom or a fad or what? Does anyone know?
What inspired the diamond form?
" @Mainline: From what I know, it was Grant Morrison. He wanted to use Colossus in one of his storylines but he couldn't, so he gave this secondary mutation to Emma Frost. "This. He needed a strong character in the team, Colossus was dead, he saw Emma as a great character and one that granted him the opportunity to create the "New" in New X-Men.
