At the end of Warsong, Emma said that the phoenix would have to deal with her when it came back. Just want to see if anyone has any ideas on what she is going to the whole phoenix entity is coming back with the next event the AvX.

Yeah, I'm sure the Phoenix is going to be shaking in its boots against someone it has already destroyed with no effort before. Empty bravado without the means to back it up doesn't mean anything.

Who knows and really who cares at this point? The Phoenix isn't really as special as she used to be same goes for Jean Grey, their names are practically plot devices to stir something up. Not trying to sound like a d*ck. Emma has dealt with the Phoenix on plenty of occasions and vice versa. There isn't anything she really can do under her own power. Anyone using the Phoenix Force should realistically be too much. It also depends on the host which she mentions is possibly Jean Grey gone insane which happens on occasion but is not necessarily true every single time. It looks like something is gearing up with Hope being the next host and their relationship at this point seems to vary from comics, she is ok with each other in UXM but Generation Hope just got b*tchslapped by Emma. There are too many variables and too many what ifs to make an accurate call with what will happen but she can't do anything to it and with the hack writers and the event going to be a heavily biased Avengers event nothing relevant might even come of it as that instance you brought up could be ignored.

I love Emma and her badass-ness, but she can't do much against the Phoenix. No one can really.

That was years ago and she was emotional, I'm sure she's moved on by now. If not, there really isn't anything she could do.

Nothing without massive amounts of WIS/PIS/unconventional alliances/out-of-character prep.

    A. It would be character regression for her to do so.

    B. Let's be honest here. Emma doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of going up against the full breadth of the Phoenix Force and winning. She can't serve as a host to it - much less beat it.

"revenge on the Phoenix" that makes me laugh, but the idea of some kind of 'Emma vs Jean' brawl is on everyone's mind, lets be honest, But Emma up against the cosmic greatness & limitless power of the Phoenix force is just a joke... but if the Phoenix force were to leave Jean and Jean were to come back from the dead...again, her & Emma one on one would be interesting, Emma is a very formidable telepath and stands a chance against Jean's telepathy, but the Phoenix force...no
