@RainEffect I think it is still entirely possible for scott to die. Remember, it's Alex Summers who is going to be in Uncanny Avengers, is there a reason Alex is stepping up to the plate like this? May have something to do with Scott post-avx. But who knows, that's hardly enough to go by.

And that was only with the little extra power from Namor. Now that Piotr and Magik are done too, she my go completely crazy with the extra power.

It looks like she is floating above the other mutants who are kneeling before her. None look too happy so it is most likely forced.
It isn't a safe bet to say anything just yet. There are still 3 issues left and we still have the big fight left and ending with something "big" supposedly happening. A single image from the next issue while 2 remain after isn't enough to bank on at all.

If Emma died I think I would bury myself beneath a monument composed of her memorabilia. That being said, this event is making a mucky mess of the White Queen. While the commonly used story of absolute power=absolute corruption is still universally understood I think the path they've taken is a bit contrived. Though Scott is certainly not without his weak moments in AvX it's the way his other phoenix cohorts are being treated that rubs me the wrong way.Why is Emma losing it? She out of the entire team has the most personal experience with the Phoenix. And while Scott was there for Jeans cosmic transformation; Emma is the one whose had it wearing her skin. What happened to her vow of vengeance? What happened to her diamond hard will and resolve? Why is she going bat....crazy!? And why is Scott the hero...Again? A more interesting story. One that would prove the depth of love, compassion, and good within Emma would have been the other P5 losing it and her fighting the entire way until she kills herself in an attempt to rid the cosmos of that flaming canary. Sigh. I just pray her death is good.
Does this mean current white crown jean well save emma again by claiming the phoenix force the P5 shared? It would be interesting to have them both in the white hot room. Especially if emma is the dark and jean the white phoenix.
Might just get that cat fight some fans have been hoping for.
Okay, I’ll try to keep this short. I really don’t have to do this, especially since on CBR you have wrote many comments about what Scott has done wrong and is in the wrong, but I will.
What has Scott done wrong? The answer is he hasn’t and he has. Scott is a flawed character, and a lot of his decisions land in the gray area. That’s what makes him interesting. In the beginning of AvX, Scott is training Hope, but he is clearly going overboard in training her. In this scene he is both in the right and in the wrong because while he has to prepare her for her destiny, he needs to ease up on her.
Then there’s the part where he took the first physical shot at Captain America, thus starting the war. In this case he is both in the right and wrong because Captain America did make a threat by saying Scott and the X-Men had no choice in the matter, leaving no room for compromise, but at the same time Scott did attack Captain America first.
For the rest of the first act he continues with his mission to have Hope harness the power of the Phoenix, and though Scott is trying to save and restore the nearly extinct mutant race, he at the same time is ignoring Hope’s feelings on the matter.
Eventually, Scott becomes one of the Phoenix Five and uses his powers to undo and solve some of the problems plaguing the planet. This is why I say you haven’t been reading the even properly, because if you have, you would know that the theme of the 2 act is safety/security vs freedom. It’s about absolute power corrupting absolutely. As a member of the Phoenix Five, Scott is helping the world, but the question is whether or not it’s a good thing to have people with so much power that can inflict as much harm as do they help. Once again, this is another gray area where Scott is in the right and wrong.
Scott is a flawed character, and to say that the writers are writing him as if he does nothing wrong and is perfect demonstrate a lack of knowledge, or bias towards, the character. For instance, in the last issue Emma was about to tell Scott that she needs his help, but before she could Scott left to get Hope back after Emma told him where she was. Now this is a gray action, one that many heroes make, i.e. Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, etc., because it builds drama to a story and because the heroes themselves have a duty to do what they think is right and in the process ignore problems or people in their lives. Though Emma was dropping hints that she was having problems, Scott didn’t fully know and he did was he always does and perform his job/mission, which in this cause was getting Hope back.
AvX is plagued with bad writing, and this can cause poor dialogue and scenes, but for the most part, it’s clear that Scott is being portrayed as someone in the gray area, as he has been portrayed for the past few years. We can speculate over whether he will suffer any consequences, and neither one of us will know for sure, but in my opinion it’s safe to say that Scott will suffer some consequences and will go through challenges as a result of AvX.
