    Wife of Frederick Abberline

    Short summary describing this character.

Emma Beamont Abberline was born c. 1844, the daughter of a merchant from Hoxton New Town, Shoreditch. She married Frederick Abberline in 1876. She was his second wife. The pair had no children, but did not appear to be unhappy. They remained together for over 50 years, and were only parted by Abberline's death in 1929. Emma herself died in 1930 at the age of 86. They are buried together in Bournemouth, where they had spent the last years of their lives.

She occasionally appears in media based on the Jack the Ripper case, but she is often ignored in favour of making her husband a single man, thus allowing him to get romantically involved with one of the victims.
