Ruin uses Kryptonian technology

When was the rescue of Lex Luthor, Ruin attacked Superman with a Red Sun blast to weakened him and was threw out of the building teleport,to save himself.Meanwhile Superman realizes that Ruin is able to teleport to the Phantom Zone, and built a life support on his clothes,to survive the travel between dimensions.

Using Pete Ross as a scapegoat

Emil put Pete Ross in his suit,mind controlled it to attack John Henry Irons and his niece Natasha,so Peter would take the blame while he rescue the Parasites. During the fight it's possible to noticed the suit increasing the strength and durability of the User,turn it to be able to match with Steel II (Steel Armor IV increase her strengtyh at level she's capable to lift a building) and when he blast the ground,the shockwave was felt in twenty blocks. In the Jail Pete Ross confirmed the theory,he was mind controlled.

Last Battle with Superman

Emil Hamilton thought of everything for your last battle with Superman, kidnapping the vice president for impersonating him,tothe police did not follow his trail and prepared his headquarters to weakened Superman,so would be able to kill him (as a bonus the Kryptonite stake ''kill'' Mxy) and using the Phantom Zone teleporter allows to penetrate Fortress of Solitude security,to get Kryptonian weapons. Hamilton installed security measures to ensure his victory,if the suit is removed it would explode and destroyed half of a city.

His suit can absorb energy

Ruin's suits need constant recharges,because the travel between dimensions depowered him,to solves this Emil gives the suit the ability to absorb all types of energy,even energy from a Disruptor Ray increasing his strength and recharging the suit.

I his first confrontation with Superman,Ruin kidnapped two brothers to call Superman's attention and has the assitence of a cybernetic modified X-lim (Replikon's son,which he modified),he built an battery to drain the solar energy stored in Superman's body and gives a X-lim a gun that negates the solar radiation being absorbed by it. Is worthy to mention,his suit is capable to whistand heat vision.

After being arrested by the police,Ruin use his Red Sun blast to kill the cops and then goes to hospital to turn the Allstron brothers,in the new Parasites. It's said by Superman that Ruin equipped his suit with lead and frequency nulifiers,to dodge Superman enhanced senses.

Emil was a great character before,it's a shame that he was pushed aside to only being remembered on Smallville,Superman: TAS and JLU,it's a shame because he's one of the most intelligent characters and deserve more. Just a question,he already appeared in Action Comics or Superman? I readall issues,but I don't know if a miss his appearance
