Mistress of the Dark.

Played by Cassandra Peterson, the popular horror hostess of the 1980's quickly evolved from a cult figure into a culture icon. As the "Misstress of All Media" she could be found on consumer products, T.V shows, a movie, magazines and of course comic books.

Publication History

From 1986-87, DC published a variant to the original House of Mystery comic entitled Elvira's House of Mystery. The Mistress of the Dark is portrayed as the temporary caretaker, introducing horror stories similar to the original series.

In 1993 Peterson's stared in a new comic series produced by Claypool Comics. Elvira Mistress Of The Dark ran for 14 years producing 166 issues.
