Elixir is a comic book character that first appeared in New Mutants vol. 2 #5

How powerful can he become?

Does anyone think that because there are so few mutants now, that Elixir could restore all of the mutants powers back?

It would be a theoretically possible direction for him in the future. Marvel has revealed that he is an Omega Level mutant (which bothered me at first, but I have grown accustom to the idea). I never thought of that angle, but it would be interesting if marvel were to take it.

I hope so, I'd rather see all those kids resurrected and repowered because this series has become a stupid "butchery-fest."

that'd be cool But since they don't even have th x gene, he'd have to train for a WHILE to be able to heal them. Even if he could, he'd also get worn out after 2 mutants

He knows the Physiology, Biology and Anatomy of Humans/Mutants from Beast so he wouldn't need to train in that department. Cant wait to see he at a level way higher than he is. I think he will be one of the most powerful Mutants around.

hope not, but shit happens. unfortunately. I can sort of see him being pushed aside in new x-men now. i like hellion, but i like Elixir a hell of a lot more.

Elixir is almost too powerful to be an X-man.There should be an even medium. There is about 5 omegas and 6 potential omegas..2 is too many. They should have left it at Magnus and Jean."

I would prefer him above the other Omegas

Have you red New Mutants Volume 2? There is only about 12 issues.

Colt Python says:

"

No but I hear there disbanded..."

yes it was before New X-men came out, but Josh in that is different. he only changed because of Stryker. when he killed wallflower.

But i think he could bring her back to life with practice.

I see his powers, before i knew of him as one of the top 5 powers to have next to the likes of Technopathy, Psychokinesis, Telepathy and immortality (which he could develop with his powers).

Okay just happened to be browsing and caught wind of this thread. In respect of Elixir's true potential, I believe he's in theory beyond even the Omega's if he were to put his powers to the right level. We know that everyone's powers are derived from the "X-gene" then what's stopping Elixir from taking/copying each and every X-gene from everyone around him into his own body? Imaging him having anyone or everyone else's powers in conjunction with his own, and still able to add on to whats already there? Further augmenting others powers through his own...and well once you get to that point he just continues to cascade becoming something beyond comprehension into the realm of "a perfect 'God' being". However this would only be possible to use on other "mutates" as opposed to people with powers who got it through other means in Marvel Universe...

The only thing in my mind that could plausibly counter this concept is that "IF" the X-gene alone isn't what creates individuals powers, but merely generates the source of these powers. I mean the X-gene perhaps only works when interacting with the rest of the genetic code of our body, meaning that the same X-gene in one person could have a completely different effect when used by another individual with a different DNA code. Just putting the thought out there...

Wanda's M-Day Spell effectively removed/erased the mutant x-gene, it didn't supress it. So for all intents and purposes, for those who have lost their powers there is nothing left to heal.

Do not try and appear clever when you do not know the extent of Elixir's power. It is quite possible that Elixir, being an Omega-Level mutant, could create and insert the x-gene genes in some cases) into every cell in the mutant's body, thus restoring his/her power.

in New-X-Men they said Elixer had omega potential not that he is an omega level mutant. If he was he wouldnt get tired so quickly. The definition of omega level mutant is basically no limits to your powers. He has alot of limits

He can manipulate genetic material on a genetic level, he has been seen using it on people and himself, can he use it on animal, plants or alien races. He gets tires after extensive uses of his powers but thats just cause his young I think. It would be so cool to see him grown up a enemy jumps at him and he justs touchs them and instant death every cell turned off or somethin equally cool. Plus he might be able to alter his own body in unimaginable ways altering his own genetic structure to make himself more powerful, in essence evolving himself.

If Elixir can manipulate genes like that, I just had a thought or two...

  • Couldn't he reverse Beast's furry form, which was an accident in the first place?
  • Couldn't he give Cyclops the ability to stop firing his optic blast, which was the result of a head injury in the first place?
  • Couldn't he rearrange Psylocke so she'd look like herself again, and not an Asian assassin?
  • Couldn't he fix Rogue's hair? (Sorry, I'm just sayin'!)
  • Couldn't he make Deadpool normal looking again?
  • Couldn't he also fix Doom's scars? Making him a lot happier?
  • Couldn't he potentially cure the Thing?
  • Couldn't he cure Blade's "hunger"?
  • Couldn't he fix Rhodey so he could leave the War Machine armour?
  • Couldn't he make Nightcrawler look human? (Not that he'd want to...) Or Leech? Or any other non-human mutant?

Okay, so maybe that was more than two.

but that would be soooooooooooooo stupid

de-power or kill most of the mutants on the planet and then have elixir make all of that undone
that wold be such a waste
and if he could make cyclops normal and everything that would also suck.
and nobody wuld like nightcrawler if he looked human

Actually I am very smart, and granted elixer is an omega mutant, omega powers aer only "limitless" within a particular jurisdiction, I.e. Elixer's power is Bio Manipulation, meaning he can do everything, actual and theoretical with respect to manipulating biology. He cannot "create" biology only manipulate it. Your argument is akin to assuming Iceman will someday be able to create fire or that Jean Grey will develop an ability unrelated to telekinesis and telepathy, that's absurd. Elixer can only work with what's there, and thx to M-Day (until marvel decides otherwise) The X-Gene in those unfortunate to have lost their powers, does not exist anymore. Don't count on Elixer being able to fix that until or unless the status quo in their genes changes.

Second spot:

Iceman's power is cryokinesis. Elixir's power is biological manipulation with undefined limits as of yet, genetic manipulation is a high possibility.
