The Title of this issue "TURNABOUT" indicates several elements within the overall theme of elfQuest SHARDs:
- the Human VenoVel is becoming more elflike
- The townsfolk no longer believe in Grohmul Djun's sovereignty, impeccability, or divinity
- Shuna is now looked upon as stronger than her Father, a Centennial for the Djun
Costume: Green Shawl
The transition also occurs rather brilliantly through the stage costume of the Human patriots. Shuna has an ally in an unnamed male with long brown hair, who wears the same style of green shaul-sweater. Although Shuna is not featured in this issue at all, Aroree, being as tall as a human wears a green cloack in order to walk amongst the humans.
This is the beginning of Rayek's long sleep inside the SHARDroom, he became subdued and eventuall inherited the soul/spirit of Winnowill.
Mender and Flam start a fight, and this alerts the Djun's men against them. Inside the soldiers kill a man and almost kill two human children, but instead, Flam kills the soldiers.
