This story is set during the inbetween period of ElfQuest: Kings of the Broken Wheel. Rayek is exploring the universe, and the remaining Wolfriders are sleeping in their Preserver-wrapped cocoons for an ageless-eternity. Meanwhile, Cutter hashes out the seasons on his father tree in solitude. He slowly becomes insane, and the only way for him to maintain sanity is to reminisce upon the days of his youth. In this story, he remembers his brotherhood with Skywise, when his life was saved at birth, and also how Skywise found his faceshield.
