It is discovered that the reason Cutter inadvertently captures Leetah is because they recognised. Leetah heard the name of Cutter's spirit, TAM, in her soul, and thus felt the innate attraction to share her eternity with him.
Rayek had been courting Leetah up to that time, and believes that Cutter is a vigilante without supernatural powers, who is not worth Leetah's "head, heart, and hand". Thus, in the Sanctity of Savah 's overseeing, he challenges cutter to a dual.
The first challenge is to be the first find a treasure buried in the caves nearby Sun Village.
The Challenge of
Finally, Cutter must face his fears and cross the threshold bridge of great heights on the outskirts of Sun Village. If Cutter can touch the symbol of the Sun that waits on the other crag, he will have won Leetah for all her life from the village, and she will even become a Wolfrider.
