    Call to Conference

Cutter and his Wolfriders decide to stay in Blue Mountain with Lord Voll and the Gliders. Cutter calls a council to discuss the various reasons for staying or leaving, but Strongbow who met the mind of all insurrection Winnowill in his thoughts leaves immediately.

The other Wolfriders are left with divided opinion, both as to whether the Gliders really are the High Ones, and whether of not they should be friends with their kin.

    Mortality of Wolfriders

The Gliders are not truly the High Ones, but all elves are in fact descendents of the High Ones, an alien E.T. race inhabiting the World of Two Moons. But the great curse from Winnowill's perspective was when Timmain made a grave sacrifice when she fused her conscious-form metempsychotically into the indigenous wolf.

Timmain had children who were mortal, half wolf and half elf. Her progeny carried less and less memory of the The High-Ones or their palace in each successive generation.

This cruel fact, Winnowill informs to Leetah, after introducing her to the ways of the rock-shapers.
