Creation
Eel was created by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld in 1989 and first appeared in New Mutants Annual # 5.
Powers & Abilities
Eel is an Atlantean born with a physical mutation that allows him to convert his body into a flat and malleable state. Eel is quite elusive in his flattened form where he can also absorb some physical attacks and return that force to his attacker. Eel can also snare and wrap his limbs around his opponents. Eel can live indefinitely under water and his physiology enables him to withstand the great water pressure changes that occur beneath the sea.
