Amazing Spider-Man Continues to Swing High and Sell Out!
Amazing Spider-Man has been selling out lately. My question is, is it because of the Anti-Venom and the current "New Ways to Die" story arc or is it because of the variant covers? Are people still buying both covers of an issue? Very very rarely will I do that. Only if both covers are really cool or by my favorite artist. I love the 50/50 covers. If you're going to release two covers, I love having an equal choice. I don't want to pay more for what I think is a cooler cover. Hopefully we won't have another gimmick-cover craze like we had in the 90s.
I am enjoying "New Ways to Die" by the way. It should be interesting to see if Anti-Venom will be an enemy or ally to Spider-Man.
Marvel is pleased to announce Amazing Spider-Man #570 has sold out at Diamond in less than 24 hours and will return with Amazing Spider-Man #570 Second Printing Variant! Amazing Spider-Man #569 In Stores Today & Already Sold Out!
I think it's safe to say that this would be the first comic I'd read after picking them up from the comic shop. It's funny how most people have been putting down Spider-Man since
Brand New Day started. I'm not exactly happy with
how we got to where we are now but now that we are here, it's really not bad. I suggest you try to get to the comic shop as soon as you can so you don't miss out on what everyone is going to be talking about. Maybe you could still pick up a copy of last week's 568. I have a feeling they'll be reprinted but why take the risk?
On the day of its release, Amazing Spider-Man #569 has sold out at Diamond (though copies will be available at retail level)! The second part of the hotly anticipated “New Ways To Die” storyline marks not only the first appearance of Anti-Venom, but also the second straight sell out for Spidey’s summer blockbuster, which IGN.Com deemed a, “well-plotted, intelligent superhero story.”
Who is Anti-Venom? Why have the Thunderbolts assaulted Peter Parker? And just what does Norman Osborn know about the connection between Peter & Spider-Man? Find out in Amazing Spider-Man #569, in stores now!

No no, I'm bringing the cranberries. You're bringing the pumpkin pie.
I have to say I am both happy and sad about this episode. It's cool that Venom's making an appearance. Sure it seems a little fast but why not? It's what we all want to see. What interests me is how the "children" will deal with the character. I know Venom's appeared on the FOX Spider-Man series but the set up was different. They really went out of their way to set up the brotherly relationship between Peter and Eddie. I've been watching with my (soon to be) five year old daughter. She's really into the show but I know her little mind will be trying to grasp the idea that they were friends and now they're not. But I suppose it could prepare her in case a good friend of hers gets ahold of an alien symbiote next year in kindergarten.
What makes me sad is not that Peter's losing his buddy. It's that this is the last episode for a while. I've said it before, let's hope that they are currently working hard prepping the second season. The ratings have been through the roof so it just makes sense to get cranking on these. Let's them do something wacky and actually start the season before the "fall." We get new comics every week so there's no reason that we can't handle new episodes before the fall. I always thought that was stupid. Yeah people go on vacations and such but they still watch tv. And don't most people at least have VCRs if not DVRs?
It's Venom vs. "The Spectacular Spider-Man" in season finale this Saturday, June 14 on CW4Kids
Spider-Man has shed his symbiote suit, but the alien has made Eddie Brock's mind and body its new home – and that lethal combination is coming after Spidey and his friends and relatives in the action-packed season finale of "The Spectacular Spider-Man" this Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. ET/PT on CW4Kids.
The whole "mouth" thing never really made sense to me.
Entitled "Nature vs. Nurture," the all-new episode opens on Thanksgiving as Aunt May Parker is released from the hospital – but Venom has no intention of letting May and Peter Parker enjoy a family celebration. Knowing all of Spider-Man's secrets – even some Pete isn't consciously aware of – Venom threatens to destroy Pete and everyone he loves most. Will Pete embrace his destiny in time to defeat this new arch-nemesis?
"Nature vs. Nurture" is written by Kevin Hopps and directed by series producer/supervising director Victor Cook.
Subbing for the Spider-Man balloon during the Macy's Day Parade.
Prior to the premiere of "Nature vs. Nurture," Kids' WB! will air a repeat of "Persona" at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT.
