Ed Brubaker is an American comic book writer currently exclusively contracted to Marvel. Known for runs on books such as Captain America, Daredevil, and Iron Fist. He is also known for his creator owned Criminal series and his previous DC work on Batman related books.

Brubaker is best known for his work writing with a crime style in all of his comics. He has worked with many well known writers and artists such as Darwyn Cooke, Brian Michael Bendis, Billy Tan and Matt Fraction.

Brubaker’s first work in comics was as a cartoonist, writing and drawing Pajama Chronicles for Blackthorne comics , Purgatory U.S.A. for Slave Labour Graphics, and the semi-autobiographical series Lowlife for Slave Labor and later Caliber Comics.

At Caliber, he briefly edited the anthology series Monkey Wrench. Brubaker's first work for one of the two major American comic book publishers, DC Comics published a "mature readers".

His first superhero work was on Batman, which is one of the most recognized superheroes of all time. His first major work for Marvel was the fifth relaunch of the Captain America series. He is currently working on the sixth relaunch of Captain America that coincided with the release of Captain America: The First Avenger.

In 2011, it became apparent through numerous tweets that professional wrestler CM Punk is an avid Ed Brubaker fan (and an outspoken fan of comic books). Punk regularly posts pictures of issues that he is currently reading, often featuring books penned by Brubaker.
