The woman known as Ebon Flame was a moniker to prior Nazi war criminal Lottie Eisinski during the events of World War 2 until she falsified her death and changed her identity under the American alias of Lottie Hederman at the turn of the 1950's. Over time she accumulated a collection of anti-nationalists and hate group oriented Americans to follow a liberation group known as Freedomlight with an unseen leader known as Ebon Flame.

In the late 1990's, Lottie Hederman would falsify her identity with the internet including a false "late" son known as Herve Hederman which prompted investigations by a meta-human bigot and FBI agent known as Agent Carter Tenko to investigate Lottie Hederman as an eye-witness to a robbery involving a new anti-American anarchist factor known on-line and privatized areas as Freedomlight. Freedomlight would participate in efforts to initiate a bank robbery that would have the culprits fell by Black Widow during the prior collapse of the Avengers by Onslaught and the emergence of the Thunderbolts after the fact.

The younger terrorist leader known as Ebon Flame would later break out the culprits behind the bank robbery to initiate them into the Freedomlight headquarters but not before Black Widow would question Lottie Hederman's connection to her false "son's" ties to Freedomlight by the internet and latter abduction by Ebon Flame to acquire a weapon coincided with prior SHIELD agents who were micro-chipped with processors to their minds for easier intelligence, tracking and plausible termination efforts if the reneged. The trigger device that powered the Cerebral Matrix would be destroyed in a faux battle between Black Widow and Ebon Flame who revealed herself as a prior SHIELD infiltrator of hate groups who specifically sought to extort SHIELD for money on her endeavors rather than formulate a new world order with Freedomlight subordinates.

Upon Lottie Hederman's return to her home after the "rescue" by Black Widow would Agent Carter Tenko initiate efforts interviewing her on possible accessories as a traitor to her "son's" activities until she succumbed to a heart attack with portions of her information censored by Agent Carter Tenko on his return to reveal his intelligence with SHIELD superior Dum Dum Dugan. Lottie Hederman would "die" after Tenko's interview, but not without a few double-crosses.

Black Widow had impersonated Ebon Flame for a lack of physical evidence of her presence to infiltrate and discredit Ebon Flame herself with a few mock battles in front of Lottie Hederman with the deconstruction of her original plans to fortify the agenda of Freedomlight. Agent Carter Tenko contemplated to infiltrate hate groups tied to Freedomlight with the agenda of subverting them and controlling them with profitable gains as a traitor. Whether Lottie Eisinski died after her intervention with Black Widow returning her home is uncertain or if Life Model Decoys impersonated both Black Widow and Ebon Flame is undisclosed, but Black Widow did impersonate Lottie Hederman to throw off Agent Carter Tenko from reviving Lottie Eisinski's subversive evils into further war crimes which Timothy Dugan set to intercept on Carter Tenko's departure from his interview.

There has been no other depictions or copycat itinerary of Freedomlight, Ebon Flame nor any current evidence of Lottie Eisinski or alias Lottie Hederman since.
