    Spicy Indian Horror

Ok, now overall I liked Eat The Dead, it`s a fantasy-horror tale set in the forests of India. However, it does require a strong imagination and, if you`re a Westerner like myself, an open-minded acceptance of the theories of Hindi religion - although, that said, doesn`t alot of horror ask us to accept the highly improbable?
Five strangers are drawn together as they travel through India, some have been experiencing strange, disturbing visions. Following an attack in the forest by a ferocious, bizarre creature, the strangers learn that they are the reincarnated souls of five villagers. It seems a hundred years ago, local sadu - holy men - kept a mysterious creature of the forest, the Adrika, in check. The five young villagers had set about killing the Adricka, but hadn`t succeeded - at least, not in that life.
Now, reincarnated, they must try again.
The five must face the demon and each other as they struggle to escape the forest, which the Adrika is part of. As I say, it`s pretty fantastical but horror fans will enjoy the gory moments and the demon does look good - a shapeshifting, wood-warping thing which seems to melt out of the trees. In fact, the art is very good.

There are some adult themes here as well, you could say Eat The Dead is like a teen-horror with a liberal sprinkling of Indian Mythology.
Nice size one-shot with 60-odd pages, I liked this because it was...different.
    Strange. But different.
