East of West #1
This is a great new series coming from the team that previously worked on FF over at Marvel (Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta). If you read any of that then you know that their work is amazing and if you haven't then you are in for a treat. This is about three of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse going after the fourth. It also involves the President. Don't want to give too much away.
The Writing 5/5:
Hickman consistently delivers when it comes to comics and it is amazing how easily he can create an entire world and draw the reader into it. And this new series is no different. Although it is hard to get an immediate grasp on who is really the protagonist or the antagonist it doesn't really matter because of how good the characterization is and the depth of the story that has already been shown.
The Art 5/5:
The art in this book is amazing, it really shows the grit of every situation and conveys the emotion of all of the people in the book. There is really nothing to complain about with the art. The colors by Frank Martin Jr. are amazing and greatly compliment the wondrous pencils of Dragotta.
This book is a wonder to read and a pleasure to look at. I enjoyed every moment of reading it. The only thing I disliked about this book is that I have to wait another month to read the next issue. I expect great things to come from this book so I suggest jumping on the East of West bandwagon as soon as possible.
