I liked it, yeah i guess it is

Earth-X, in my opinion, was the best storyline to come out of Marvel in years. It really grabbed your attention and kept you at the edge of your seat as you discovered the fate of several of the mainstays of the Marvel Universe, not to mention the fate of the universe itself. The story-telling was very gripping, and it even had some tear jerker moments, for example that scene between Reed and Franklin (but that might just be me because I'm a huge Fantastic Four fan).

Anyway, how many people enjoyed the characterizations and the all around dark atmosphere that was given to that continuity? And thoughts on the story itself, actually? And do you think that it could have worked as an actual canon future for the 616 Marvel U?

It's a great image. I've often wondered how the Earth-X series would have looked had it been drawn entirely by Alex Ross himself. Although the dark atmosphere of the actual Earth-X mini was what really made it, in my opinion.

He's a great artist no doubt about that. And well... it's not just what comics he drew but also the comics that were based on his ideas, a la..... you guessed it, Earth-X. If it wasn't for his brief outline of a "future" Marvel U in that issue of Wizard we wouldn't have this phenomenal story arc.

Yeah, it was. It was after Kingdom Come came out, he did a Wizard interview and they asked him to outline a future for the Marvel Universe close to what he did with KC. And he plotted down the basic ideas. That particular issue of Wizard flew off the shelves and Marvel seeing how popular the idea was decided to try the it out using the basic outline. And as they say, the rest was history and Earth-X was born.

Good point. I really don't see why certain artists go exclusive to one company. The smarter thing would be to try out both companies to get a feel for the atmosphere of working at each one. But that's just my opinion.

Maybe hell open his own Comic company lol

Thanks for the invite, Warlock, but I'm not one for teams, besides I'm blue. And unless I turn into the new Dark Mistress, it wouldn't suit me although.... Dark Mistress Leandra does sound good. Criss-crosses between the lines of good and evil.

You there's a lot of magic wielding characters on the Vine and I've yet to see some type of clan or team, etc., for the magic wielders.

As for the "back on subject" comment. I never read Kingdom Come. I ordered the last two comics of the limited series but still need the first two. Nonetheless, I don't think it was meant to be as dark and depressive as Earth-X. I could be wrong, of course.

What im not even getting to express my views, I mean if this was open for debate, Now most people know I more a marvel fan, But I mean if im just going to get ignored each time I express my point of view then what is the point of the disscusion?

Arrow, it was merely a joke, of course you're entitled to your opinion but the thread wasn't created to compare Kingdom Come and Earth-X. More of a generalization on your honest opinion of the comic (the story itself, not comparison between another story arc) and whether you believe it could be considered one of Marvel's best arcs, especially in recent years.

Warlock, we ALL have an evil side. Life is a balance of good and evil. And where there is good there is most definitely evil. ;)

Well I should say another COMPANY's story arc. But this is the Vine and I'm well aware that people don't stay on topic so..... let it be discussed however the masses want.

Hey everyone knows, that that just leads to more arguing(I do it all the time), But for once Im actually want to disscus it, But I mean you guys have not read Kingdom come but are ruling it out!

Dont get me wrong I loved Earth x and 1602 was the bomb, But I felt more for the Kingdom come characters!
