So... I saw the cover for earth 2 #4 with Hawkgirl. I gotta say, I'm disappointed people aren't pissed off and screaming at how they don't like the new outfit. LOL. I was hoping to laugh at all the obsessive fans cry out loud, just like when they say Jay Garrick's new outfit.
uh... I kind of like the blue outfit and all, but what is up with that headgear? It just looks... weird. I don't know, it just seems way too smooth and rounded, without anything really interesting going on with it.
Cool, Like the color scheme, ties her to the Batman of Earth 2 with the Nightwing vibe. I actually like the smoother helmet. The guns I can take or leave. Maybe they're made of Nth Metal though? That would certainly be interesting.
I love the look. I actually think I like it more than old school Hawkgirl... especially with the color scheme. The headgear doesn't blow me out of the water or anything, but I'm more focused on everything else... the outfit really works with the wings... and I (surprisingly) love the guns. It is pretty awesome.
(And if the guns are made of Nth Metal, my opinion of them can only elevate further)
Blue? Ugh. Aren't hawks brown? Also not big on the guns and leather. I would rather see her be with Hawkman in his series instead of a completely different universe.
If it means anything, Robinson said this wasn't Shiera Hall, but Kendra Saunders. Completely unfamiliar with the Hawkman & Hawkgirl history, though I assume she looked different.
I kinda like it for the most part, but it's looks the took the easy way in making her, round helmet to Hawkman's square-ish, blues and silvers to golds and greens. guns to more melee weapons
I like it alot, it's refreshing. You see her over the course of what, 50 years portrayed as a white woman yet she has been reincarnated over 1000, and for some reason is always caucasian, up till the last HG who was Hispanic. (not sure if I'm wrong on that) but a brown skinned reincarnation of an already egyptian spirit is logical and respectful in my book, however she does look too meta and not enough alien.
So the guns have been used before? awesome. Im hoping is a special nth metal gun. haha. but then it'll take the fun away of checking HG's latest gun choices. Im hoping we get to see tons of different kinda guns.
O_O I really like her costume, the Hemet is meant to be an egyptian reference because like robinson said the earth 2 heroes will have a mystical feel to them so giving her that helmet is reminiscent of the mythos of egypt
The costume reminds me of Northwind abit. You know Blue on a dark skin color person? I like it because it's a costume where it doesn't look like the female counterpart to the males costume. Makes me wonder about Hawkman tough. Can't wait to see the Atom Smasher's costume at best thats going to be Al Pratt.
I actually love it. And I just read the article and Robinson said that she would have to become the world's greatest detective in the absence of Batman. Interesting take on the character, me thinks
It's perfect. Her helmet actually looks like a hawk's head now. The color change doesn't bug me because she was always half Latina, i guess they just decided to focus on that half. Speaking of her costume, it perfectly contrasts with her skin tone and wings.
