Peril Anew
Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman execute their plan to annihilate the Parademons that took over the world. Meanwhile, a kid with no plan and purpose finds rejuvenation as the Messenger of the Gods pays him a visit.
Plus
First off, the new costumes for our heroes are great and their new look hits the balance of being a nice costume yet not overly flashy that it becomes unpleasant to the eyes. The cover was well drawn and was successful in setting the tone on what this issue had to offer. The artwork and action were amazing. The environment was drawn cleanly and the simple layout contained the chaos that was going down everywhere. Robinson shows his writing prowess with the dialogue that resonated the heroes' sense of urgency and their desire for vengeance. Although the pace for this issue was a little fast, this comic will captivate you and lock you into place with it's brilliant artwork, emotional dialogue and intense plot.
Minus
The fate of the three heroes will be a little hard to swallow for most readers. Also, the jump to the future was a little too much and it was somehow cruel to leave a very big question mark on how things went down especially with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all involved. The creators will eventually catch us up on that but a very small explanation would've been nice.
Final Score
This series was surrounded with a lot of hype and I must say that this has got to be the best title for the Second Wave of DC's The New 52. With Robinson's writing gift plus his great team working on this series, you can't go wrong with this title. An action-packed issue with an all-star cast, combined with genius writing and artwork, pick up a copy and tell all your friends about it. 5/5 stars.
