Awful. Awful. Let me look again. Yep, awful.

I don't know what it is about E-man that I find interesting.  His superhero name, origin, and costume is some of the lamest work I've ever seen.   Yet I keep finding his books and reading them.  In a way it is his badness that makes me keep finding and reading his book.  Kind of like a bad movie becomes a cult classic.  The only thing I think is charming about E-Man comics is the character Nova Cane.

I can not tell if this book is suppose to be a spoof, comical or serious book.  I can even put my finger on why this book is so bad so I'll give an example.  I man of pure energy finds a giant brain that plans on killing the whole planet with a gas bomb with no motive.   Now when E-man appears before Nova Cane and the story is revealed she acts as if it is not in the least bit strange.  Everything in this book is like this.   When Nova wants him to blast something she just asks if he has a blast power and wouldn't ya know he does.  The story is terrible for both stories the art is alright.  The only things redeemable in this book is it is a first appearances of characters like E-Man and Nova Cane.  It also has a second story that is pretty bad but it is neat because it is about a secret organization know as C.H.E.S.S.  It is very similar to Checkmate in the way it is run.  They even have positions based on chess pieces and wear the pieces on their uniforms.  It is neat to read because of that.  I gave this book two stars.  It is cool for a collector who loves comics and the history of comics but it is terrible.  If you like really bad movies you might like this book.
