    No Caption Provided

    Dwayne McDuffie
will be returning to DC Comics to bring his successful ' Milestone Universe' to an end in a whole new series. The Milestone editor-in-chief and former Justice League of America writer will bring back many successful Milestone characters with him, including STATIC, ICON, HARDWARE, SHADOW CABINET and BLOOD SYNDICATE. In addition, we will be seeing many of the artists that had formerly worked on Milestone projects return, including John Paul Leon, Mark Bright, Chris Cross and Milestone Founder Denys Cowan. The series will be integrated with the DC Universe and it's characters and will "chronicles the literal end of a universe, and the birth of something new, with major consequences for the future of the DC Universe."

Are you looking forward to seeing the Milestone characters get their closure in the DCU? Do you think you will be picking up the series?

I hope it is not the end for them but rather a tie up to their story lines and then an integration into the DCU. I love that Static is with the Teen Titans although they need to step up his character a bit. There's really none of that Static persona I'm use to from the old Milestone stories. I love Hardware. I was glad to see him in a Brave and the Bold with Blue Beetle. I'm not big on Icon or the Shadow Cabinet but I would like to see more from them. Also you have Xombi. I like his team up with the Spectre. You have a lot of great characters and it would be a shame to let them go them waste.

I was never into the Milestone Universe. But seeing all of these "universes" crashing into the "main" DCU seems kinda off. Why bring them into the DCU now/at all? Sometimes I just want my peanut butter and chocolate seperate and not crashed into a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup...The Archie/Impact/Red Circle characters were fine on their own back in the day. Same with the Kingdom Come Universe and the Elseworlds Universe. Very little good came of introducing the Quality characters into the DCU - except Watchmen (smirks) and maybe Dennis O'Neil's take on The Question. (Okay, Captain Atom was rebooted pretty well, but then it was all downhill from there...) It's a shame that these characters weren't included in the DCU right from the get-go, now it's just...

McDuffie writes DC characters just as good as anyone.  I was kind of pissed when he got booted off of JLA.  This will be worth the money and the read for sure.  I am kind of familiar to the controvercial Milestone U, this should be good.

Man, it's about time they bring em' back and give these characters the "closure" that they deserve. Reading Static while growin' up was like reading my own life story. The stories they put out was so realistic and relevant to the lives lead by "minorities" in urban areas. I hope DC would just absorb the characters after this "ending".
