Jesus MARVEL just stop the killing!!!!

#1 Posted by grimm (525 posts) - - Show Bio

Am I the only one who thinks that marvel just puts every characters name into a hat then draws one every month to kill off? I mean they depowered the mutants, and since then they have been killing everyone including Dust. And when they kill someone it's always in the stupidest way. Kitty Pryde is stuck in a magic bullet and now dust got burned by magma,, making her glass. The magma saves her but leaves her arm glass, killing her. ...How exactly did that kill her?

Magma is that B!tch!!! I love crazy chicks.

She's probably not dead. Her powers are probably evolving.

I think that might be something of an exaggeration, but I am equally as disappointed to see her go. However, I really think DUST was a fantastic character. She was arabic which was totally cool, and she was DIFFERENT. Not oversexed, and Marvel had the opportunity to really delve into her character. I am disappointed that they killed her off so soon and didn't do more with her character. Hopefully they will bring her back eventually. I really liked her a a lot. =[

People don't live forever in real life, why should they in comics?

But to kill off Dust while Gentle is still running around? I also liked Wolf Cub and they killed him off. The only one I got left from the youth team is Pixie lol.

Does marvel do this often? "Evolve her powers" by pretending to kill her off?

Mister M, and Quentin Quire are some recent examples I can think of.

Quentin Quire did not die though.

His powers/ he evolved.

He did evolve this is true but without dying. As far as I understood it anyway. I may have to read it again.

You're correct about Quentin Quire, but Dust might not necessarily be dead.

This is also true.

#18 Posted by Erik (32823 posts) - - Show Bio

I wonder how many mutants have evolved without outside influence. Anyone got a list?

#19 Posted by grimm (525 posts) - - Show Bio

Yea dust is dead for good. Her powers aren't going to "evolve"

If they were going to bring someone back with that lame a reason then they should bring back kitty pryde

I'm sorry, I didn't know you were Axel Alonso, Joey Q or Mark Guggenheim.....
You MUST be right then.

How would Kitty's powers help her in the vacuum of space even if they were evolved?

Soooooooooooooo the Solicit for the final issue says that Dust is fighting for her life.. seems Moonstar jumped the gun in pronouncing her dead.

And according to the preview, seems Ink is using his ability to heal her!

#24 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

Wait... she's alive, but now she's going psychotic? Could somebody fill me in on some details here? I really really love the chararacter, but I haven't been able to keep up to date with her recently.

she was just shown to have gone crazy in the distant future. She's still alive though

@grimm:   i agree with you since its not treated like a big deal these deaths since a) most of them dont make sense and b) marvel is often not serious. the dust being turned to glass one made sense at least, but what about like scourge killing invulnerable/regenerative supers with a normal gun??
i think the worst death is onyxx.  with killed him despite the fact that onyxx is made out of onyxx, which is not a living substance.  and don't b.s. us that wither could destroy other stuff--it was already established his power didn't work on mercury.

and he was a cool character too

The X-Men and X Families just can't stop getting a raw deal from Marvel.
