Yeah, but it'd sure be an interesting way to shake things up by introducing a relationship with someone that wasn't.

Pity that Icarus is no longer around. Many awesome subplots could have sprung out of that sort-of-but-not-quite romance. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Dust's feelings for Icarus had grown to really test her moral standards. What would have she done if she had fallen in love with someone she couldn't have married because of her religion? Had it been developed a teeny bit further, the forbidden passion between Icarus and Dust could have been an endless source of drama, conflict, and eternally unreleased sexual tension, and it also would have been a great way to access and address issues of faith, morals, and cultural differences.
