    Creation

    Duckula was created by Scott Shaw for the comic book Quack #1 (July 1976), published by Star Reach Publications.

    In 1979, Filmation released a similar animated series, Quacula, Scott Shaw sued the company, the matter was settled out of court and the series ran for only 16 episodes.

    Interestingly, in 1988, the British production company Cosgrove Hall Films launched the series Count Duckula, character who debuted in 1982 as a villain in Danger Mouse, unrelated to Shaw's character.
