Life is like a Hurricane, Again!

I am a bit late in reviewing this (thought someone else would review it...*coagh* Gman *coagh), but anyway on to the review!

And Uncle Scrooge and his creators jump into a new series, not knowing where it will lead them!

When I heard there was going to be a duck tales comic (outside of Uncle Scrooge), I didn't really jump in my seat. Granted I have seen the entire series a few times and enjoyed it, but I am mostly a Darkwing Duck Fan. However, when my Duck eyes caught onto the phrase " Existing within the same continuity as BOOM!’s hit series DARKWING DUCK", I knew I had to get it. See, I have enjoyed the DW series and I will definitely love any crossovers with Launchpad's duckburg pals.

    The Art
As you can see, the colors are very vibrant and they really pop out at you. The art is impressive. On one hand, they make the illustrations almost animated so its like the show, but on the other hand it is similar to the Uncle scrooge style of art. It is also important to note that there is not just one artist but three (or so): including Leonel Castellani, Jose Massaroli and Magic Eye Studios, which means this is quite the endeavor to have possibly more than three artists working on this one issue. This can be slightly annoying as the art changes every few pages and their styles are radically different, but all and all it can be ignored for such a great story.

    The Story
Basically, without giving the whole plot away, Scrooge has just opened the "Scrooge McDuck Collection", which holds artifacts and other items from his adventures. Here we see references to actual episodes from the show, such as the golden coat from the episode called "The Golden Fleecing" as well as the gold mine from "Back to the Klondike" (though the later could also be from the life and times of Scrooge McDuck, but I'm sure having not read it).
My favorite part was the cameo of Darkwing Villains Moliarty & Camille Chameleon

However upon opening his great collection, he makes bet with Duck tales new comer John D. Rockerduck to find out who can return the most artifacts to their original places, so the quest is on to see who is the biggest philanthropist. Unbeknownst to Scrooge, there is a sinister element to this story known only as Agent X! He tells the criminal element what artifacts scrooge will be returning and so the story begins.

    Consensus
I think this is a great beginning of a great new arc. Duck Tales was always about adventures and finding treasure, and this arc seems to continue the story and answer the question: what happens to the people Scrooge encounters and takes artifacts from?  There is potential for this duck series and i hope it all the best. This comic will definitely be a fan comic with adventures fans of the show would enjoy. However, it does look like it also accommodates for new readers too and introduces the world to the new adventures in the Duck Tales Universe!
