I think it looks quite cool. Don't expect it to be great but will probably be an ok watch
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
edit: Did Dredd just use phosphorus on those guys?
Actually looks pretty cool. But Trailers do that quite often.
I can't help myself. I'm excited. This looks awesome.
I think Urban is going to do a great job, looks great. However I think his costume looks a little too piecemeal.
Looks great. It does look not quite as, what's the word, stylized sci-fi cyberpunk futuristic, as the books, and it looks like a pretty straightforward gritty action flick. Even if it doesn't really represent everything I love about the books, a solid Dredd action tale on the big screen, well sign me up.
"How do you plead?"..."Defense noted"...court's adjourned for me far as I'm concerned. Verdict? Is it f'ing September yet? Cause I can't wait for this!
I think this will so make up for Sly as Dredd I really want to see it lol
@nerdork: if you're into digital, on the official 2000ad store and clickwheel it's all there, the weekly 2000AD and monthly Judge Dredd Megazine. Plus they've been releasing some trades with story arcs in America too lately. But I do agree it'd be nice for it to be more readily available over here.
@mr_iq: Did you know RoboCop was largely inspired by the Judge Dredd comic (started in 1977), and in the behind-the-scenes they even used Judge Dredd's head, helmet and all, on the prototype of RoboCop. News you can use.
@wowylied: 1 after the dismal mega budget Judge Dredd film, NO COMPANY WANTED TO TOUCH THIS FRANCHISE AGAIN, so they went to a place where it could look nasty and dismal without making a lot of sets, They chose South Africa because look at "District 9". They just slapped TONS of extra "blocks" (the huge buildings in MC1" onto a skyline, and BOOM! you have a new megacity without building sets. it is cheaper than the Stallone film if i am not mistaken.
This looks like the wet-dream of a fourteen year old raised on Paul Verhoeven movies. Terrible.
As a fan of the old school 80s film [terrible movie, but I do still love it in all of its silliness], I am looking forward to this. I think that this revamp may actually be good, especially with Karl Urban at the head of the cast. Here's hoping it's as action-packed and bad ass as the commercials make it seem with a halfway decent storyline.
