Over 10,000 years ago the Dragon king was the ruler of Outworld. In an attempt to gain eternal life he ordered the last dragon egg to be hidden and guarded believing that drinking the blood of an infant dragon would make him immortal.However, his plan would fail when one of his top advisers, Shao Kahn, piosoned him and took the throne. Upon his death, his udefeatble army fell into a mummified state. Over the following years Onaga was all but forgoten. However, we had prophecy that he would return upon the birth of a great Dragon. I do not know how it happened but the Dragon King cheated death and retained consciousness from beyoned the grave. Onaga minipulated Shujinko into bringing the Kamidogu (ancent artifacts that the elder gods used to make the realms) together by making him believe that it was the will of the elder gods. The truth was that he wanted them brought together in the Nexus so that he could access there power and return. Many years later they were all brought together and he reterned using Reptile as a host.
