The two female leads are sister-in-laws Helen Kent (Barbara Shelley) and Diana Kent (Suzan Farmer). The ritual bringing Dracula back to life involves a victim's throat slit directly above Dracula's remains and the blood dropping on them.
The resurrected Dracula never speaks but stalks victims and attacks in silence, even gaining entry in a monastery to do so. This is considered to have added to the sense of menace from him and ended up making the film "creerpier". Actually there were several lines written for Dracula in the script. Christopher Lee, the actor depicting him, thought the dialogue was extremely poor and refused to utter any of its lines.
The finale does not have Dracula killed. He is left trapped beneath icy waters.
