Dr. Jon Osterman was a lowly lab technician, before he was caught in a radioactive particle test. He returned as a god-like superhuman. He is powerful and highly intelligent, yet he grew to become emotionally distant towards people. He is the only superhero with powers in the Watchmen storyline.
Click to enlarge...This topic came up before. Some people were outraged at the thought of seeing Lil' Dr. Manhattan. What to keep in mind is, Watchmen is not a movie for little kids. It's rated R. For some, seeing a certain part of the male body seems offensive. Dr. Manhattan didn't go around wearing clothes in the comic. He was beyond such things. To stay true to the source, it should be expected to possibly get a glimpse at all of Dr. Manhattan. Lil' Dr. Manhattan isn't the star of the movie. I don't think you'll be seeing it throughout the entire film.
With that being said, IESB has some images showing Dr. Manhattan and how he was and motion captured before the effects were put in place.
If it makes you feel any better, the blue weiner has been computer generated.
As a friend of mine put it... The thing I hate most about R rated movies isn't the sex drug and violence, it's when you're in the theater and hear a baby crying in the audience...
Honestly, it's a movie. It's rated R, so it's going to have mature content. People need to get a grip and if they can't handle seeing Dr. Manhattan's junk, then don't go see the movie.
Watchmen had people disintegrating, a man getting thrown through the window, a pregnant woman getting shot, a man's arms cut in half with a chainsaw and a shit load of explosions.
And yet the most commonly talked topic regarding it is a blue CGI penis.
