Story

He worked for FuturePharm with Maya Hansen in Texas, the duo created Extremis and sold a bit of it to a domestic terrorist, Mallen. After Mallen injected himself his body changes a lot and his partners flee leaving him in a warehouse. Few days later he writes a note to his female partner about what he did and she had a part in this dirty business before he commits suicide.

Aldrich Killian was created by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov. His first appearance was in Iron Man #1.

Killian was portrayed by English-born Australian actor Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3. In 1999 Aldrich tried to convince Stark about his idea being developed by AIM on New Year's Eve but he was ignored, at the time he was scruffy, wearing glasses and using a cane. In present day he became a successful scientist business man having created Extremis with Maya Hansen. He tries to seduce Pepper Potts while talking about his discovery. Killian recruited war veterans to volunteer and become Extremis soldiers, one of them is ColdBlood who also acts as his bodyguard. He has 3 metallic spheres which are used to project holograms. It was revealed that he was the real Mandarin.
