DP7 takes place in Marvel's New Universe and follows the experiences of a group of previously normal individuals who acquire powers after the White Event. The group originally consists of seven paranormals from a therapy group at the Clinic for Paranormal Research, but members come and go throughout the series.
The series largely avoids most superhero conventions, instead focusing on the group's efforts to adapt to their changing and complex circumstances.
At various points the group encounters other residents of the New Universe, including the Kickers, Nightmask and the Starbrand. Like the rest of the New Universe the group members' lives are radically changed by the Black Event, the destruction of Pittsburg.
The series ended after 32 issues.
