Doug was killed while saving a teamate in battle. Ramsey's corpse was later assimilated by Phalanx. The bonding of Phalanx and human resulted in Douglock. While hooked into the Phalanx's collective consciousness he retained his mutant ability to decipher any language written or spoken. He fights against the persecution of of mutants. This was later ret-conned so that Douglock was Warlock all along.
