Doomsday is a seemingly unstoppable behemoth who adapts his physical form to overcome and destroy anything or anyone in his path. He is best known for being the murderer of Superman in the "Death of Superman" storyline.

Mmyeahhh, I kinda haveta go with the poster earlier, who said that Doomsday should float off to comic book limbo. Superman fought him to the death. As much as that story stunk, there is still no bigger fight than that.
Doomsday, although he looks like stone and bone, comes off as Hulk-lite to me.
@Icarusflies: I see your point DOOMSDAY started at the top. It's like a NFL Quarterback winning the Superbowl, the MVP award and throwing for 4000+(yards\30+touchdowns in his rookie season. You can do again, but it wont be as special. I do like STEEL though; if he is written well this could be good for that character. To me STEEL is like the go between of SUPERMAN and BATMAN. He is a Genius human in a IRONMAN type suite who battles street types and meta types. (plus the fact that he had Meta powers in the past could make the storyline interesting.)
in the unlikely event Steel wins expect loads of new "Vs Doomsday" fights in which Steel winning is the point that causes Doomsday to lose all future battles.

EVEN DC would not kill a character in their own one-shot. Still if Steel does die expect more dc is racist threads, still this would be in really poor taste.
Who came up with the idea of having Steel against Doomsday ? I mean, seriously, how is it even a contest between Steel and the Superman Killer ? Is there a vacuum of ideas going on here ? I foresee some astounding manner of dumb luck intervening and Steel somehow winning. If that happens, it will just be completely wrong and insane
@theiconic: Against Doomsday, Steel = dead. LOL. Of course he's a hero, and even that wouldn't do him any justice against Doomsday.
Due to the fact that Steel is going back to basics, I doubt he'll have anything new within his arsenal. He sported the same armor and weapons during the New Krypton arc and War of the Supermen... Nothing new there.
But, that's just me. He never struck me as an interesting character, anyway.

Agreed. I'll sign that petition. Hopefully this storyline will kill him off for good somehow. I am interested in this story though, we'll see where it goes.
If this is Steel new ongoing series then DC is starting it off right. I've always had a soft spot for Steel and seeing him again is great just wish they made his look more original though. Anyway hopefully DC lets this book have a decent run before cancelling it and replacing with an crappy JLU, GL or Flash book

Hes going rampaging through Steel, Outsiders, Justice League of America, Superboy, and one more, so I'm thinking it'll be more of the latter, which would be awesome.

Everyone knows that a hero or villain's power is directly proportional to how popular they are. Doomsday has got to have the strength of tap water at this point so...sure, why not.
I like Steel but this is a joke, everyone already knows that both will survive, and unless a miracle happens (or Steel just out smarts him since he is a genius) Steel is going to lose. Unless he has a new suit comparable to the Entropy Aegis, he has no chance. we already know that Doomsday will survive bc he was just beaten down by a mob of Krypontians. Unless Lex made Doomsday weaker (Which would ultimately piss me off at the writers) Doomsday will fall to no one in any of these books. He should kill and maime all of them. The only ones that have a chance of surviving an encounter are Superboy (because he has abilities Doomsday doesnt know about), Supergirl (History background on Doomsday) Steel and Batman (both should be able to study and out smart Doomsday)
I am expecting to be highly disappointed with Reign of Doomsday. I dont think they should get rid of him. I thik they need to slowly give him intelligence. not like last time where he learns fear bc if he really gain intelligence he would also know he would come back to life and wouldnt be afraid and would most likely welcome death

Who currently has a limited series that'll be wrapping up right as Reign of Doomsday hits? Who totally deserves to get an ongoing once their limited series ends because their limited series is the best Brightest Day tie-in? How awesome would it be to start of that ongoing with the conclusion to The Reign of Doomsday? JLI/Generation Lost. Think about it. Also, Action Comics should stick with Luthor for a while. It's been phenomenal. "

Wait, when did DC say that? I really DON'T want Superman to return to Action Comics UNLESS Luthor gets his own title. Currently Action Comics just too awesome for words with Luthor as the main character.

It just read as them trying to get you to care about Steel to realise that it was going to be sad when he got decked to pieces. It's fairly open ended so I imagine they're going to do the "Oooohhh...We had you going didn't we, guys? He's actually going to wake up and take a shower at any point now..."
