    Doom Patrol

Team » Doom Patrol appears in 549 issues.

The World's Strangest Heroes. A team of outcasts, with some of the most bizarre powers, and abilities gathered together by Niles Caulder (The Chief) to battle evil.

    Short summary describing this team.

    Doom Patrol by Grant Morrison

Issue 19 of this series is the first by Grant Morrison with issue 63 being his final issue during this run. While there were Doom Patrol comics before this, this is generally considered to be the best run of the series by fans and critics. This run focuses more on the weird side of things while also introducing characters like Crazy Jane and Rebis to the team.

    Doom Patrol by Rachel Pollack

Starting at issue 64, picking up where Morrison left off Rachel Pollack takes over the series continuing until the final issue of the series. While many people wouldn't include this in their reading guides for the Team I still think that it worth the read. Mainly because of the inclusion of the character Kate Godwin (Coagula) who is a major landmark in comic history being the first transgender lesbian in modern day superhero comics.

    Doom Patrol by Gerard Way

In my opinion the comics that come between this and Rachel Pollacks runs aren't worth that much of a read. If you choose to follow this guide you'll be filled in with any context of events you might've missed and you're also introduced to new characters like Casey Brinke.

Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds

This six issue mini-series is a direct sequel to Way run, picking up where that left off. This series has reintroduced Dorthy Spinner into the comics as well as showing us more of the new characters that Way created for his Doom Patrol team.
