no i think it's a part of her mutation...but I'm not really an expert on her...i would gues her mutation is also the cause of that spot around here eye...
mutants have the potential for having abnormal physical appearances and forms be it subtle (like gambit's eyes or mystique's skin) or blatantly obvious (the morlocks). IMO, another reason for making her skin white was in reference to her name.

not that i remember and i just checked her bio and it says she's a mutant and everything i've ever read with her in it she was a mutant....so my guess is that she's a mutant

I don't think anyone has to say you're a mutant for you to be one.Domino is in the 198 files and the very first Marvel handbook to have Domino in it says she's a mutant.
The X-Force issues during Operation: Zero Tolerance showed some flashbacks to Domino when she was younger. She had white skin, and no patch. But she immediately dismissed half of the scenarios on the previous page by saying some of them (she didn't say which) weren't her.
That was when the rogue Prime Sentinel implanted Domino's neck & spine with something to negate her luck powers. I don't know when that was removed (or retconned).
She was part of a top-secret government breeding program intended to develop the perfect weapon as a child. Perhaps the black mark is a brand similiar to bishops and it indicates she was a subject there.
A few months ago I read somewhere that she found she had a brother who also had a patch over his eye. I think I read this on MarvelDatabase though, so I can't vouch for it's accuracy.

So it could be a brand and her brother could be another surviver of the program.
Not sure this question be why is she white but why are they using the wrong actress to portray Domino, I always thought she was Asian of some variety, but they are using an actress who is black and has an afro, when Domino has always had straight black oriental style hair, would have seen an Asian actress portray Domino instead of a Black Actress, there is a few characters that Zazzie would be perfect for in the Marvel Universe, but I don't think this is one of them, I hope I am proven wrong, but I don't think I will be.

I see what you mean. It's also kinda weird that they made her black but painted a white spot over her eye. Like it kinda bugs me? Just keep the spot black.
@mainjp: Yeah Zazzie is of light enough color that they could have done the black patch on the eye, maybes it wouldn't be so jarring and get her to wear a straight haired wig, and she might have been able to pull the look off, but just looking at her the only person I see in that get up is Misty Knight a great character in her own right, but I don't see domino, somebody had to tell me who she was supposed to be.
